Lisa-Marie volunteered much of her time to the Horse Care Unit at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, where she helped to retrain the REHORP ex-race horses in preparation for their new lives off the track. There, she also spent time rehabbing abused and abandoned horses and ponies as well as backing youngsters for adoption.
